At first sight, Umi's a spoiled-rotten, selfish teen with the looks to support her attitude and the budget to justify it. This, however, contrasts grandly with her true self. Judging a new acquaintance above appearances might take her a while, but she's learned to do better. Once she feels comfortable enough to open herself she's able to overcome her slight difficulties to relate to people, which live mostly in her head due to the seclusion coming from her privileged position. Umi is easy to idolize since at first sight she looks like the perfect girl: beautiful, rich, talented and popular. Appearances tend to be deceptive, though. Her heart isn't free of demons. Underneath her short temper lies a valiant soul. Years of being pampered made her composed and nearly shy. But it didn't take long until proper motivation lead her to shed that guise and let her impulsive nature rule her. She owns a reckless daredevil streak which seems related to a trauma lost to her memories: she's incapable of fear. Seemingly aloof, Umi's truly eager for human warmth, faithful in camaraderie, and adamant about proving herself above spoiled brat standards. However, she does tend to slip into snob mode sometimes. |
